Overview

What is Stitch?

Stitch is a cloud-based ETL service, now part of Qlik, that extracts data from SaaS applications, databases, and files and loads it into data warehouses and lakes. Built on the open-source Singer framework, it offers scheduled replication, table and column selection, schema change detection, and handling of nested JSON. Data engineers, analytics engineers, and BI teams use Stitch to centralize data from many sources for reporting and analysis without writing custom connectors.

Anonymous User

Senior Data Engineer

“Liked the built-in connectors that reduce custom code and the cloud flexibility for feeding a warehouse from multiple sources. Found no serverless option for running custom Python code.”

Julian G.

Analytics Engineer

“Liked the simple setup and maintenance, helpful support, readable logs, many integrations, clear documentation, and straightforward pricing. Found no data quality guarantees or row-level filtering, prompting a move to another tool.”

Anonymous User

Data and Analytics Manager

“Liked the simple implementation and stability for early-stage data extraction. Found the lack of Google single sign-on and two-factor authentication a dealbreaker, plus weak support and a dated interface.”

Anonymous User

Senior BI Data Engineer

“Liked the quick start, simple interface, and frequent new integrations. Found that only key fields are selected by default, table selection needs repeated drilling, and support centers on US West Coast hours.”

Stitch integrations

Stitch connects to a wide range of sources through its Singer-based replication engine, which runs against APIs, databases, and flat files. Documented sources include MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, Salesforce, Zendesk, Google Analytics, and Amazon S3, and custom data can be sent through webhooks or the Import API. On the destination side, Stitch loads data into Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, and Amazon S3, converting time zones to UTC and normalizing nested JSON when needed. Connections are secured with SSL/TLS by default, with SSH tunnels available. Some premium sources, such as Oracle and Google Analytics 360, require higher-tier plans.
