Native code generation
Generates platform-specific SQL and loaders from metadata definitions.
Design, build, and run data warehouses with metadata-driven automation and native SQL code generation.
WhereScape RED is a data warehouse automation tool that helps teams design, build, deploy, and operate data warehouses from a metadata repository. It generates native SQL code for target platforms, includes templates for 3NF, Data Vault, and dimensional models, and keeps documentation and lineage updated as changes are made. A built-in scheduler manages job flows. Data engineers, data architects, and BI developers use WhereScape RED to load sources and build warehouses with less hand-written code.
tom F
Sr. Data Engineer
“Liked the simplicity, how quickly new data flows start, and being able to view and modify scripts. Found the scheduler lacking and wants a SaaS version without migrating from version 8.6.”
Stefan W
Data Analyst
“Liked the good usability, the automation of tedious tasks, and the low cost of the tool. Found that the search functionality could be improved.”
Neil M.
Head of Data and Decisioning
“Liked the simple installation, how easy ELT creation is, and the self-documenting feature. Found the experience of working with flat files weaker.”
Andreas P.
Developer
“Liked support for many data modeling approaches and platform independence. Found the UI dated and template creation to take a large effort.”
Rebecca S.
Sr Solutions Analyst
“Liked the code generation capability a great deal. Found that jobs fail when source mappings change and considered the technology dated.”
Abdy J.
Senior Data Information Analyst
“Liked the ease of use, low entry threshold, SQL power, and small footprint. Found the scheduling effective but not optimal.”
Nikki H.
Data Analyst
“Liked the automated tracking of how data moves from source to target. Found the training material outdated and hard for new users to follow.”
Jim S.
Data Engineer
“Liked that it is easy to use and produces error-free code when rules are followed. Found the metadata used for job creation awkward.”
Sumukha Bharadwaj B.
Developer
“Liked the feature set, orchestration, and data source integration. Found the UI obsolete and application speed in need of improvement.”
Terrence E.
Analyst
“Liked how helpful it is for managing a data warehouse. Found that it did not work well with large datasets.”
Marcin S.
Data Architect
“Liked its ability to process and transform metadata. Found naming conventions hard to change and some manual work still required.”
Nathan T.
Sr BI Engineer
“Liked how easy it is to load data from many different sources and run simple transformations. Found keeping data in sync challenging.”
Michael H.
Data Architect
“Liked the strong metadata engine and its support for multiple data warehouse architectures. Found that integration with the Microsoft stack lags behind.”
Sigurdur J.
Head of IT
“Liked how easy it is to build, deploy, and connect to sources. Found the scheduler could be better and noted tables sometimes change unexpectedly.”
Viktor U.
Data Engineer Lead
“Liked the no-code approach and drag-and-drop building of data structures. Found semi-structured sources hard to connect and disliked that metadata is stored on premise.”
Tobi D.
Developer, Data Analyst
“Liked the ease of use, metadata management, code generation, and data lineage features. Found support limited for some native data sources.”
Deepesh T.
Lead Data Engineer
“Liked how easy it is to set up ETL mappings and SQL tasks in the tool. Found integration with third-party tools difficult.”
Brendan M.
Data Warehouse Architect
“Liked that the product is stable, reliable, and easy to use for day-to-day data warehouse work. Found the user interface dated.”
Dwayne E.
Data Warehouse Specialist
“Liked how easy it is to add sources and build a star schema. Found Amazon S3 loading support still immature.”
Manuel Z.
Director of Technology
“Liked the time saved by having the tool automate the writing of SQL code. Found a learning curve when first getting started.”
