Overview

What is Astera ReportMiner?

Astera ReportMiner is a data extraction tool that pulls structured data out of unstructured and semi-structured files such as PDF forms, TXT, PRN, RTF, Excel, and COBOL reports. Users build reusable report models, with AI-assisted model creation, to define how fields are captured, then send the output to spreadsheets, databases, or downstream workflows. Operations teams, EDI administrators, accounting and claims processing staff, and IT groups use ReportMiner to cut manual data entry.

Dave W.

Data Conversion

“Liked that it reliably pulls data from PDFs and other sources, saving time and cost on conversion work. Found that the team has not yet used all of its capabilities.”

Hayder M.

Sr. Manager, Custom Applications

“Liked how well it converts complex PDFs into usable text, succeeding where other tools failed. Found a steep learning curve, a need for IT help, and separate OCR for image PDFs.”

Susan P.

Head of Operations

“Liked that templates speed up extraction from incoming PDF files. Found the interface not very friendly, identifying data patterns difficult, and the required server connection inconvenient.”

Verified Reviewer

CTO

“Liked that non-developer staff can build extraction workflows, which reduces developer workload. Found older versions crashed, though recent updates and server hosting have been more stable.”

Integrations

Astera ReportMiner integrations

Astera ReportMiner reads data from PDF forms, TXT, PRN, RTF, XLS, XLSX, and COBOL files, which covers most printed reports and legacy system outputs. Extracted records can be written to Excel and to relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, or passed to delimited files for other systems. Because ReportMiner is part of the Astera data stack, output can feed Astera Centerprise dataflows for further transformation and loading into data warehouses. Scheduled jobs let teams process incoming files on a set cadence, and customers use it in claims processing, payroll, and EDI workflows where reports arrive in fixed layouts.
